2023-24 Plans & Procedures

  • Report a positive case

Please use this form to report any positive cases of COVID-19, anyone experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 and awaiting test results, or anyone who is a known close contact of a person who has been diagnosed with COVID-19.

Please report ONLY for individuals living in your household who attend KCD. This form goes directly to our School Nurse.
  • Policies for students or faculty who have tested positive for COVID-19

Regardless of vaccination status, if you have tested positive for COVID-19, you should stay home and isolate for 5 days. If you have no symptoms or your symptoms are resolving, after 5 days you can return to school. Regardless of the current masking policy on campus, wear a mask around others for 5 additional days.

Following an isolation period, students and faculty will be provided a safe environment to eat their lunch that prevents them from eating within close contact of their peers. Please note, families and faculty may choose to extend their isolation an additional five days (10 days total) to avoid having to eat in a separate location if that is their preference.
If your student misses 3 consecutive school days, we require a doctor's note to return to school.
  • If you were exposed to a known case of COVID-19

  • Are masks required?

Masks are optional for all individuals (including visitors) indoors and outdoors on KCD’s campus. This policy is subject to change and any update will be communicated to the KCD community accordingly.

  • Is the COVID-19 vaccine required?

No. While we recommend the vaccination for all community members who are able to receive it, KCD does not require it.
  • What do our cleaning procedures look like?

All classrooms and restrooms will be sanitized multiple times throughout the day, as was done last year.
